Japanese Gold in Philippines

What would a person do with Japanese treasure found in the Philippines? Can you put it in a safety deposit box? Is it hard to sell? Thanks for any input.

Stan's response: I get asked about and invited to participate in projects dealing with Yamashita's treasure nearly every week. It is definitely out there, spread out in many different parcels all over a very large area.

If you are lucky enough to locate one of the parcels, I would speak with a competent Philippean lawyer that knows about treasure hunting law. I would think that you could place it in a safe location within the country, but I don't know if it could legally be removed from the country or not. I mostly specialize in Latin America so I don't know the details with this particular case.
